APRIL GALLERY

April Update

Here in the West Highlands, April is a changeable month. Spring is finally here but winter can still have it's grip on higher ground, with the snow-clad, surrounding mountains looking spectacular.

We have chalet availability during the 2nd half of April, an ideal time for a West Highland stay, with the local area usually quieter after Easter. Our monthly page is intended to provide helpful info on planning that improptu short break.

Late Availability

We sometimes discount our advertised tariffs by at least 10%, for bookings made within 7 days of arrival,

Please just see our booking system for what is possible, where availability for all 9 of our chalets is displayed.

You can also contact us directly at any time.

Perfectly Located for West-coast Hill-walking & Mountaineering

Inchree's location is equi-distant between the the Ben Nevis, Glen Coe & Mamore Mountains, so we're in the perfect spot for West Highland mountain-sport. Additionally, we are just 300 metres from the Corran Ferry, which provides convenient car & foot access to the wonderful & remoter areas of Ardgour, Morven & Ardnamurchan.

Sledging at Glen Coe Mountain

Our local & much-loved ski area, Glen Coe Mountain, is just a 20 minute drive away.

At the time of writing (10th April) although lift-assisted skiing has stopped, their access chairlift from the base station to 700 metres on the mountain of Meall a'Bhuiridh is open 7 days a week for sightseers & walkers.

A 10 minute easy walk from the chairlift then takes you to their sledging slope with cafe, (real snow, machine-made) a fun option especially for kids. Check Glen Coe Mountains website & social media for more info, from where you can also buy chairlift tickets.

Pubs & Eateries within walking distance

We are fortunate to have several eateries & watering holes within easy walking distance of the chalets:

  • RoamWest - Just a stone's throw from the chalets, RoamWest is a long-established country pub. They serve a reputable evening menu. Pre-booking is advisable.

  • Corran Ices - More than just an ice-cream van, they also sell takeaway hot food & snacks. Located by the Corran Ferry slipway, a 10 minute walk from the chalets.

  • Inn at Ardgour - Located on the Ardgour side of Loch Linnhe. A 10 minute walk to the Corran Ferry, followed by 5 minute (free) boat ride across the Corran Narrows. The Inn is conveniently located opposite the ferry slipway. Evening menu & takeaway food available.

  • Ardgour Ales. - Located again via the Corran Ferry, Ardgour Ales is both brewery & beer tent. Every Friday night they do super pizzas for sit-in or takeaway. (booking required) After getting off the ferry on the Ardgour side, turn right and walk along the lochfront for 300 metres until you see their sign by the roadside.
